Where it all started: inspiration to connect the bus studio NoFurthur to something bigger! (Jim Rintoul, master thinker and builder) The spot chosen by Galen for the best view at Ancient Oaks Laying out a possible footprint in January 2008 Jim's initial sketch Jim and Bruce going to rent a power auger tool Steve and Jim giving it a whirl You know what... ...it wasn't... ...hard sandstone after all! but we still have 8 holes to go! Arrival of the first load of lumber... ...in the middle of a rain storm! Brand spanking new utility poles... ...the idea foundational material! ...first post in! Seems to be set right! Steve Maurer hammers out some... ...temporary steps! Poles going in... for a fine pole house (planning frame). View to be... ...and dimensions too! Building the first foundational framework... ...it goes together quickly. ...piece by piece... ...all securely attached! A sunnier day and time for... ...more lumber! Ready to build more... ...all the way up to the decking! First platform is present... ...and a great place for a Rintoul family picnic! Ella, Daniel and Sue take a trip on the bus NoFurthur The initial hexagon is expanding... ...to be a hexagon within a hexagon! The view will be great this way... ...and this way there is a future vision... ...for an octagon and deck to connect the bus! Hexadeck takes shape!
